Indian Fire, Indian Hickory, Sequatchie Handle Works, Sequatchie Tennessee, USA 36" Single Bit Axe Handle Code 100-13 No. IF1-36 True Temper Flint Edge Kelly Works, USA Axe Head 5 lbs Axe Head weight at handle 6 lbs Axe and handle total weight 6.75 lbs Overall length - 36" This is a beautiful example of a rare vintage brush fire axe. Forged by True Temper in the USA / Kelly Axe and Tool Works. A single bit 5 lb axe head paired with the original Indian Fire brand hickory handle made by Sequatchie Handle Works in Tennessee, USA. Handle is in excellent condition with very light marks. Very clean around axe head and handle butt. Thin strong Hickory wood. Axe has had some use over the years, although the original handle decal is still mostly intact. Mostly used for splitting wood with another heavy hammer. There is some mushrooming of the butt end of the axe head which has been cleaned up over the years to remove sharp parts. Axe has not been restored, only cleaned up little around the edges and a wire wheel. Surprisingly very light oxidation from this California resident. A fresh sharp edge has been groomed.
