Description

Here we have a RARE Antique Matched Pair (Right & Left Hand) of Beech HANDRAIL SHAVE PLANES . They are not marked by a maker. The shaves do have the same multiple owner names stamped on them. These shaves are in Very Good 'used tool' condition with the occasional tight age-related hairline crack and a couple of minor stain marks (see pics). They have thick 'ogee'' (?) shaped iron sole plates with matching thick cutting irons. Both have adjustable fences. The shaves are approx. 12" long. Based on the construction of these two shaves I strongly believe that they where manufactured by a professional tool manufacturing company back in the late 1800's to early 1900's.
