Antique Como Adjustable Pipe Wrench, Chicago, USA Wrench opens to 3 inches. Wrench is 18 inches when fully closed. 20-1/2 inches long when fully opened. This is the very first 18 inch COMO Wrench I have seen. Not amny of these larger COMO Wrenches ever come up for sale. EXCELLENT used condition.... Not sure how you find a nicer one. There are very light marks and wear from normal use and age. Rare toolmaker mark! This antique pipe wrench is forge marked in raised letters 'Como Wrench Co.Chicago, USA' on the front of its handle, and 'Drop Forged' on the reverse side. The patent for this design, #1,075,945, was issued to J.A. Schlehr on Oct. 14, 1913 , and was manufactured by Como Wrench Co . This wrench is made from 3 pieces of steel, without rivets or springs. The adjustable top jaw, with external threads fits over the handle and is adjusted with a thumb nut. A unique design. Good condition, minor rust, can use a good cleaning.
