NICE! RARE! Vintage/Antique COLLINS Legitimus "OLD TIMER" Connecticut Pattern CONNIE Axe Head With Arm & Hammer Crown Logo. Up for sale is this NICE! but RARE! Vintage 3 pounds 5.6 oz. COLLINS LEGITIMUS "OLD TIMER" Collinsville Conn. Single Bit Connecticut Pattern "CONNIE" Axe Head (see all pics). After all of the years I have been searching for axes and hatchets, this is the very first time I have found a COLLINS "OLD TIMER" axe head. And it's a CONNIE pattern "to boot". The cutting edge is the original factory ground edge. In other words the bit has never been sharpened after it left the factory years ago (see pics). The cutting edge has a few minor chips and nicks on it (see pics). And the cutting edge is still NICE! and symmetrical looking (see pics). The poll end has some hammer marks on it, plus some slight amount of mushrooming too (see pics). The axe head has some minor scrapes, scratches, ding marks and pitting on all sides of it. Plus some minor hammer marks on the top of the axe head near the eye (see all pics). All of these things are normal for a vintage axe head like this one is (see all pics). The makers mark: COLLINS "OLD TIMER" COLLINSVILLE, CONN. with the ARM & HAMMER & CROWN logo with the word LEGITIMUS stamped under the crown is super clear and deep (see pics). There's no breaks, cracks or repairs on this NICE axe head (see all pics). This vintage axe head weighs in at 3 pounds 5.6 oz. (a little over 3-1/4 pounds). The axe head is 7-1/8" long, and the bit is almost 5-3/8" wide. The eye of the axe head is 2-1/2" long.
