Description

Here's a magnificent old lignum vitae mallet. Weight is 1 lb, 9 oz. There's no mark or brand visible. Handle length is 9", head length is 4 1/4", diameter is 3". The head has its share of dings and chips, and a couple of fissures in the striking faces, but considering it's likely well over 100 years old, it's in remarkably good condition. See pics. The handle is in great shape, with just surface marks, but no real damage. The head and handle are firmly mated. This one probably built a few post-and-beam buildings in its day. Its patina is off the charts. - a real treasure from the past.
